What is this about?

To streamline the internal operation the Jelf Group is restructuring its companies on 1 October 2010 by bringing all the existing insurance broking firms together under a single company – Jelf Insurance Brokers Ltd. Jelf Insurance Brokers Ltd is already one of the Group’s existing operating companies and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) (FRN 302751).

Why are we writing?

We are transferring the ownership of our client money accounts from one business into another. These are the bank accounts where client premiums are held in trust by us prior to payment to insurers. The FSA rules that govern what we can do mean that we have to gain our clients informed consent to transfer the trust bank accounts to Jelf Insurance Brokers Ltd.

Are we writing to all clients?

No, some insurers provide an additional level of protection called “risk transfer” so it is only clients who have policies without risk transfer that need to consent.

Does this affect me?

Not in practical terms. Our responsibilities to clients and money we may hold have not changed. We are merely changing ownership of our client money accounts from the existing Limited company you trade with to Jelf Insurance Brokers Ltd.

Will my policy be affected?

No. There will be no change to your local contacts, our service or any insurance policies placed through us.

Which Jelf Group companies are affected?

The companies being transferred into Jelf Insurance Brokers are:

• Jelf Professions Ltd

• Argyll Insurance Services Ltd

• Clarke Roxburgh Insurance Brokers Ltd

• Manson Insurance Brokers Ltd

• John Lampier & Sons Ltd

What do I need to do?

Please help us by signing and returning a copy of the letter in the pre paid envelope supplied by 15th August 2010.
